Geekvolution April Update

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Greetings Geekvolutionists,

We have been working away at Geekvolution and have a bundle of things we would like to tell you about.

Updates:

Development:

  • We have rewritten how Geekvolution handles visual assets such as photos and background.
  1. We removed the ‘Portfolio’ navigation link up top. Now all visual assets can be uploaded and shared via the ‘Update Photo’ button on your user home page.
  2. Backgrounds have been added to your personal photo slideshow on your profile. Now other users can easily see what you have contributed to the network or are using as your background.
  3. Sets: You now have the option to view all your visual assets or by subgroups: Photos, Backgrounds, or Portfolio.
  • We slightly redesigned the landing page.  ‘Featured members’ are now more apparent and the about page looks even better!

Press:

  • LiveCrunch: a blogger and one of our members, wrote a blog about us.  Check it out at Here.
  • Life in the Tubes: Yours truly was the star of a video cast.  It was a lot of fun and please ignore my pledges to take over the world.  We are not planning on enacting this plan for at least 2 weeks.  Check it out Here.

Current Development:

  • We are integrating automatic alerts on the forum treads. When someone makes a new post in a topic you have posted on you will be informed (there will be a way to opt-out of this).
  • One Word: AIR! Yes, Geekvolution will soon be a desktop application.  This will make it even easier to take over the world.  I mean… nevermind.

We will send out another message soon with more details.

Cheers,

 Sam and the Geekvolution team
