Dante’s Inferno Video Game Coming in February

A lot of gamers are already dismissing Dante’s Inferno as just a God of War clone, but I’m really looking forward to it. God of War is such a good franchise, I can’t get too bent out of shape if other developers start making more games like it, unless it turns out to just be a crappy game. Besides, running around the nine circles of Hell is irristible, and I’m a little surprised this concept hasn’t come up before now. I’m glad, though, because it looks visually stunning, and it’s the kind of game I’m not sure could have been done right on pre-next gen systems.

It’s based, of course, on the first book in Dante’s epic trilogy, only with a lot more fighting and the sort of things you need in a video game that you don’t need in epic poetry. There’s also a companion animated feature that will be released directly to DVD. The game will be on XBox 360 and PS3.

Check out the game’s official website for more details. It comes out February 9th.
