I can't believe I didn't think of that, either! Guess I just trusted Desmond too much, because this wouldn't be the first time he lied about a vision. I figured he learned from his mistake the first time and wouldn't have done it again, but there's definately something to the fact that we saw his other visions and not that one. There's one thing that I'm surprised you didn't think of though. About Desmond's vision of Claire getting on the helicopter: they never show us this vision. Some of the others, we got to see. I think that Desmond lied about the vision in order to get Charley to sacrifice himself. I'm guessing the vision Desmond really had was him being reunited with Penny. He knew that Charley would sacrifice himself for Claire and the baby, but not for Desmond being reunited with Penny. What you wrote gives me so much to think about while waiting for the next season!
