The Mad Hatter Exists!

The Rise and Fall of The Mad Hatter

Batman Animated Series

This information, minus the correlation with the comic book character, is available at www.americasmostwanted.com There’s an actual bank robber that was given the nickname the Mad Hatter due to the fact that he wears a different hat to every robbery.

America’s Most Wanted

His targets were all in New Jersey: the “Gotham” area. *wink wink* Before he was captured his technique went as follows: He’s a master of blending in with the crowd. The ability has been referred to as chameleon-like. He stays very calm, even if his criminal efforts fail. He knows where to stand and and where move to best avoid surveillance cameras. To be less conspicuous he doesn’t wear gloves. Instead, he stealthily uses his sleeve to open doors, is careful not to leave finger prints, and takes everything with him that he enters with.

He approaches the bank teller and hands him/her a note that demands large bills and contains a threat. The threat is a gun or a chemical substance he possesses in the folders he carries. *wink wink again* He knows exactly what bills to ask for and what terminology to use, which is not commonly known among average joes and therefore they think he may have worked in a bank at some point in time. He’s also very apologetic, stating that he’s deeply in debt and needs the money. The police had reason to believe that he may have a sick relative for which he needs to pay medical bills. Super-villains are often spawned by tragic circumstances. After completing the robbery he leaves calmly. By employing the use of threat and apology he is able to control the actions of the bank tellers *wink wink for the third time* It’s not technically mind control, but it’s similar.

The only major element of that the Mad Hatter wasn’t able to control was surveillance video, but he was careful to keep his face hidden from the cameras. They have video of nearly every robbery.

He’s stolen around $75,000 collectively from eighteen different banks. The frequency of the robberies were planned to not be overly regular so as to stay under the radar. He’s apparently an extremely average looking guy. So much so that innocent people were being mistaken for him. He is described as having a poor complexion and extremely white teeth. Here ya go, compare the two smiles.

Batman the Animated Series

The Mad Hatter, James Madison, was captured at 6:30 am on July 23, 2007. He ran into problems in his most recent robberies with an ink pack exploding in his bag and one literally in his face. On those occasions he was able to escape. The cops had something else to use, though. The Mad Hatter was seen using a car of which the spectator remembered the license plate number. It was tracked to Madison’s girlfriend. His house was put under surveillance and he was arrested without incident.

America’s Most Wanted

The Mad Hatter was using the stolen money to support his current girlfriend. He bought her luxurious items, like a fur coat for her fiftieth birthday. His girlfriend said that he always carried hundred dollar bills. So he was a thief to make his lady happy. The Mad Hatter from the Batman Animated Series was doing most of his criminal activities, at least in his first appearance, to be with his secretary, Alice. I don’t know what Madison’s girlfriend’s name is, but it would be cool if it was Alice. Madison is a convicted murderer who was released in May 2005. He refers to the incident where he killed his former girlfriend and tried to cover up the murder as the biggest mistake of his life. Now, his neighbors reportedly say that he was an active member in the community both in church and his job as a machinist. That’s right. The Mad Hatter has technical know how. It may not be high end neural technology, but this is 2008.

After switching pleas a few times James Madison finally confessed to being the Mad Hatter, pleaded guilty to six of the eighteen robberies, and confessed to nineteen and a take of $80,000. Because she was good enough to accept him despite his 1986 murder, Madison said that he feels he let his girlfriend down by turning to a life of crime. Ah, the things people will do for love, or things of the sort.

James Madison is facing seven to nine years in jail.

The Mad Hatter by Beloved Creature plus prison bars

I know he’s a criminal. What he did is wrong and should not be condoned. Even he knows that. But c’mon, that’s pretty cool.
