Old School Games still Frustrating You? You’re Not the Only One.

If you’ve ever played any of the original NES, SNES or SEGA Genesis games then you can agree with me that some of those retro games are just frickin’ ridiculous when it comes to their difficulty levels. Face it, when you were a kid you used to play games like Ninja Gaiden, Punchout, Ghosts N’Goblins and etc. which usually resorted in many swear words aimed towards the television and several controller heaves at the wall due to the increasing frustration. Whether it was poor level design, a horrible story line, absurd difficulty or all of the above, many classic games are to blame for introducing the very first swear words into thousands of innocent children’s vocabularies. It’s okay, you can admit it, we’ve all been there and some of us still are there even after all these years. These old school games still hold as the biggest challenge to many gamers, which is why people today still play these frustratingly addictive classics.

Most people typically think, myself included, that because they are older and wiser as gamers that these old school classics won’t be nearly the challenge they were back in their youths. So these unsuspecting bunch of hopeful gamers boot up their old NES by blowing into the game cartridge a couple of times before they finally get the game working and soon realize that they aren’t any better now as adults than they were as kids.
But alas, my fellow frustrated gamers, we aren’t the only ones still cursing at the television every time that 16-bit game over screen appears. That’s right, his name is the Angry Video Game Nerd, and he has enough angry four letter words to sum up all of our frustrations as gamers. If you’ve never heard of the Angry Video Game Nerd then you’re in for a treat. This guy has made quite an underground fan base for himself by providing video reviews of both bad and good classic NES games. He’s reviewed all genres of games from Castlevania to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from Back to the Future to Friday the 13th. The Angry Video Game Nerd has created his own brand of profanities while delivering informative and in-depth reviews on the strengths, weaknesses and overall annoyances on some of the worst and greatest old school games and peripherals of the past.

Rather than blab on about the Angry Video Game Nerd and his antics, I’ve posted a video below of the Angry Video Game Nerd doing a review of Castlevania 2: Simon’s Quest.

There are many more Angry Video Game Nerd videos like this one out there. If you’re interested just Google or Youtube Angry Video Game Nerd, and you’ll hit the mother load of hilariously crude yet helpful and informative reviews of some of the most frustrating old school games that have you crying and yelling years later because you still can’t beat them. As always, thanks for reading.
