Heath Ledger Dies at 28

Heath Ledger died only a couple of hours ago this afternoon. His role as the Joker in The Dark Knight this summer is widely the most anticipated element of the new Batman movie, as he is no doubt playing a different and much darker Joker than any we’ve ever seen before.
According to the New York Post, Ledger was pronounced dead in a Broome Street apartment at 3:35 today and may have suffered an overdose. As this is news is extremely new, there’s no telling yet if his death was intentional or accidental. He was only 28 years old but a very well-known actor, starring in such movies as Brokeback Mountain and The Patriot.
The Dark Knight has already wrapped and is now in post-production, so this won’t have any effect on the new movie. However, like any time an actor dies before a movie opens, it’s certain to be devastating to Chris Nolan and everyone involved in the film. It’s horrible to lose a great talent but even worse to lose someone with an even more promising career ahead of him.
You can read the original story here. Keep checking back to that article as it will be updated as anything new is reported. I’m sure the new film will have a dedication to him in the credits, and I hope it’s as successful as many of us have been predicting. That would be a positive way to remember someone who passed so unexpectedly.
